A step forward
One of Pollers' recent advancements is the adoption of cobot technology to enhance their welding capabilities. As Toby from Pollers explains, "The cobot allows us to weld in various locations, moving directly to or with the part—something our traditional welding robot simply couldn’t do." The cobot has become an essential tool for both small and large-scale projects at Pollers, particularly for larger series and components that demand extensive welding hours. Pollers' decision to partner with WeCobot for this cutting-edge technology was largely influenced by the advanced software and the company's reliable, transparent communication. Fabio highlights, "WeCobot is just a step ahead of the competition. Their demos were convincing, and their service has been exceptional." Following a compelling demonstration at a trade fair, Pollers decided to pursue the partnership. A workshop was quickly organized on-site, allowing their welders to test the cobot with their own products. The results were clear—WeCobot could meet all of Pollers' needs. Within two weeks of the workshop, the cobot was fully operational in Pollers’ workshop. "You set up the cobot, and you're ready to go."
Given the wide range of (large) parts they handle, a traditional robot wasn’t an option. Beyond its flexibility, Toby notes that the cobot is much easier to program than traditional robots. He even trained his colleagues, enabling all welders at Pollers to work with the cobot.
The introduction of the cobot has streamlined production processes and had a positive impact on the work environment. The team realized that skilled workers would never lose their jobs due to cobot implementation, as someone is always needed to assemble and finish the parts. "New employees are drawn to the modern technology we use," Fabio adds.
