Driven by a passion for metalworking, Pollers started as a one-man operation in the 1950s and has since grown into a family-run business with around 40 employees.

Specializing in the supply of mechanical parts, semi-finished products, and complete machines, Pollers handles everything from welding and machining to painting and assembly. Their capabilities span from crafting items as small as a paperclip to assembling sections up to 14.5 meters long.

Serving a diverse range of industries—including general machinery, automation, and production companies—Pollers strives to maintain a broad customer base. They work across sectors such as chemicals, food production, concrete, and agriculture, ensuring they meet the varied needs of their clients.

A step forward

One of Pollers' recent advancements is the adoption of cobot technology to enhance their welding capabilities. As Toby from Pollers explains, "The cobot allows us to weld in various locations, moving directly to or with the part—something our traditional welding robot simply couldn’t do." This flexibility has significantly boosted the company's production capacity while ensuring consistent quality, which is vital for Pollers. The cobot has become an essential tool for both small and large-scale projects at Pollers, particularly for larger series and components that demand extensive welding hours. Leveraging advanced features like the Weave Weld and Multilayer Weld from WeCobot, Pollers has significantly enhanced their welding capabilities and efficiency.

Pollers' decision to partner with WeCobot for this cutting-edge technology was largely influenced by the advanced software and the company's reliable, transparent communication. Fabio highlights, "WeCobot is just a step ahead of the competition. Their demos were convincing, and their service has been exceptional." Following a compelling demonstration at a trade fair, Pollers decided to pursue the partnership. A workshop was quickly organized on-site, allowing their welders to test the cobot with their own products. The results were clear—WeCobot could meet all of Pollers' needs. Within two weeks of the workshop, the cobot was fully operational in Pollers’ workshop. "You set up the cobot, and you're ready to go."

Given the wide range of (large) parts they handle, a traditional robot wasn’t an option. Beyond its flexibility, Toby notes that the cobot is much easier to program than traditional robots. He even trained his colleagues, enabling all welders at Pollers to work with the cobot.

The introduction of the cobot has streamlined production processes and had a positive impact on the work environment. The team realized that skilled workers would never lose their jobs due to cobot implementation, as someone is always needed to assemble and finish the parts. "New employees are drawn to the modern technology we use," Fabio adds.

Teaching the cobot is done in no time. It's not really programming at all.”

"Looking to the future, the potential for a second cobot is definitely on the table, given the benefits we’ve experienced." The investment in collaborative robotics has not only boosted efficiency but also contributed to Pollers' ongoing commitment to continuous improvement in mechanical supply.
