The German machine and plant manufacturer REKERS GmbH is known for its high-quality solutions for the concrete and steel construction industries.

With a growing demand for high-quality welding work and the increasing challenge of finding skilled welders, REKERS sought a way to automate repetitive welding tasks without compromising on quality. After careful evaluation, REKERS chose the collaborative welding solution from WeCobot. The Challenge: More Efficient Welding in Small Series

REKERS’ main challenge lay in small production batches and complex assemblies. These required a large number of welds, making the work both time-consuming and physically demanding for welders. Production was also interrupted repeatedly for repositioning of workpieces.

The Solution: Smart Welding Automation with Collaborative Robots

REKERS implemented the WeCobot welding cobot together with WeCobot’s self-developed ONE software. Thanks to its intuitive interface, operators and welders can program and operate the cobot themselves with minimal training. Lennart Diedrichs, Precision Mechanic at REKERS, explains: “The cobot takes over the heavy and repetitive welding work, allowing me to focus on more challenging tasks. The ONE software is logically structured and after a short introduction, programming becomes very easy.”

In addition to basic functionalities, REKERS makes extensive use of weaving and multilayer welding. Integration with the Kemppi X5 Power Source and the GXe-C welding torch completes the system reliable, intuitive and purpose-built for automated welding.
